Want an Inbound Marketing case study? Here you go: Client A.
In the month of July we increased traffic over June rates by over 136% for our client, and we did it without breaking a sweat. That’s an increase of 876 to 2074 unique monthly visitors. In three months we improved our client’s traffic ranking 1757%, from about 13,000,000 to closer to 700,000. This month we’re on track for even more growth. How? By using all the methodology we constantly harp about here on the Mojo blog and in our free eBook. And the best part? It didn’t cost Client A a dime in advertising. It was all straight up, home-grown organics.
Before you say, “Well, you’re an agency, aren’t you supposed to be able to give results?” The answer is, yes, we are. And as a newcomer to the inbound agency playing field, we just proved we can. Here’s how.
A LOOK AT THE ANALYTICS
Check this out, hot shot:
May is the baseline setup period. June is the industry learning curve. July we hit our stride and got rolling with all of our services, and the results speak for themselves. That growth shows no signs of stopping.
And traffic is only half the story. Over that same time period we showed a 73% increase in conversion rate, meaning lead generation didn’t just scale with the traffic. We refined how Client A captured leads and presented offerings—that means greater ROI.

That’s cool stuff.
More traffic, more leads, more customers. It’s a three step process. As I said before, getting people to your website is only part of the challenge–it’s the lead conversion that really matters for business. That takes priority over visitations. That said, want to know how we increased traffic, and how you can too?
HOW WE DID IT
Take a moment. You’re here, aren’t you?
That’s right. Blogging was the major traffic driver that allowed us to more than double Client A’s June traffic. No fooling. And not just any blogging–smart blogging. Researched blogging that pays painstaking attention to proper keyword and titling strategy. Blogs are what show up in Google search results. The more you have over a wider range of topics, the more likely it is that someone with a question will find their answer on your website. Blogging is the new SEO. It’s the single most important thing you can do to promote your online business, and if you update regularly, your fresh material will always be relevant to searches.
You’ve got to be active as well–leaving it to the search engines won’t do everything. Take advantage of social media every way you can. Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Google+, Pinterest, Reddit–these are all ways you can promote your material and get visitations from highly targeted, qualified visitors. Through social, you’re showing your material to the people you want to see it. That alone will increase the chances of conversion, and if your content is good, they’ll share it with their followers as well. Things can snowball quickly. You just have to know how to optimize blog posts for SEO. Keep in mind what your customers are looking for, and speak in a way that appeals to them.
Of course that isn’t the only step to increase traffic. If it was, there wouldn’t be a need for agencies like us, even if great content creation is extremely time consuming. But there is a need. Good social media strategy that extends beyond your blog sharing, really nailing on and off-page SEO, promoting your website through word of mouth and speaking events–these are difficult to learn tactics that really get results. But if you want the single best way you can improve visitation without the help of a dedicated agency, blogging is your best bet.
INCREASING LEADS
I would strongly urge you to read our free eBook, “The Essential Guide to Online Marketing,” if you want to know how to increase traffic and generate leads effectively. But here are the basics: You need to have a lot of great ways for your visitors to convert, and you need to present targeted content offers that will appeal to prospects at each stage of the buying cycle. Top of Funnel, Middle of Funnel, and Bottom of Funnel–education, qualification, and sales. We call it the New Marketing Funnel.
Want to know how it’s done? Read the ebook and look through our blog a bit more to really get a feel for things. You’ll start to understand the value of inbound marketing immediately.
